As one of the world's leading tourist destinations, we have an obligation to protect the environment.
In 2007, the Chamber of Commerce introduced an Environmental Pledge that encouraged businesses, schools and community members to preserve and protect our environment, and commit to reducing waste, conserving energy, recycling, and implementing greener ways of living.
The Pledge remained unchanged for sometime, but thanks to the work of the Chamber's Community & Membership Development Committee, it has been updated to be more relevant to the current day.
The Pledge gives both individuals and businesses as a whole opportunities to show their support and take physical action in the fight against pollution and the protection of our environment. By signing the Pledge, you can show that you are committed to supporting the Cayman Islands for future generations.
Below are two forms with a list of actions that you can take to become eco-friendlier. By adopting one or more of these actions, you will be playing your part in maintaining the beauty of the Cayman Islands for future generations of residents and tourists, and by working together we can capture the attention of policy makers and encourage the passing of environmentally protective legislation.
