OVERVIEW
Leadership Cayman (LC) is a dynamic, intensive, interactive,
six-month experience designed to promote and enhance community
leadership through an in-depth introduction to social, economic,
business and political issues in the Cayman Islands.
LC class members interact with diverse, high-level community
leaders and decision-makers by organising and attending a series
of seminars and retreats in fields ranging from business, government,
education, media, social services, criminal justice, diversity,
the arts and more. Through these interactions, members learn
about their personal leadership styles, nourish their community
spirit and gain invaluable understanding of how our community
works.
The bonds forged among the members of each LC class are deep
and long lasting, offering both personal and professional
benefits. Whether you are new to the islands or just want to
learn more about the important issues facing the community in
which you live, LC is an excellent investment of your time and
talents.

Exceptional Speakers
Leaders who will share their knowledge and experience
with LC class participants may include His Excellency
the Governor, Members of the Legislative Assembly, senior
civil servants, judges, journalists, prominent business
professionals and leaders from the non-profit sector.
Your opportunity to learn from — and ask questions of
— these leaders and decision makers is a very special
feature of the LC experience.
The Sister Islands Trip
During the two-day Sister Islands seminar in Cayman Brac,
class members will meet with leaders from a variety of
sectors and explore issues specific to Cayman Brac and
Little Cayman. This is a special opportunity to explore
the various challenges and opportunities faced by the
Sister Islands.
Community Service Project
Each year, LC class members select a local, not-for-profit
organisation and design a project to benefit that organisation.
Following planning, fundraising and coordinating, class members
join together on “Project Day” to create immediate and tangible
results for the charity while strengthening their own commitment
to community service.
Leadership Cayman Alumni Association
After graduation, class members will be invited to join the
alumni association. The goal of the alumni association is continued
networking as well as keeping members informed and involved
on issues affecting our community. |
