Award presented to the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce for COVID-19 communications.
The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce has been awarded an American Advertising Federation Angel Award for their “Supporting Businesses through Times of Crisis” campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Angel Award competition honours the very best in public service advertising. The two missions of the organisation are to utilise industry expertise to address community issues, and to celebrate and showcase communications excellence.
The Supporting Businesses through Times of Crisis campaign featured a broad channel mix including the development and launch of a dedicated COVID website, daily email newsletters, webinars, a social media campaign and industry specific return to work guidelines. The campaign was developed and executed on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce by local marketing agency, Tower.
Mr. Wil Pineau, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce said, “At a time of such uncertainty, it became evident that there would be a need for guidance and support for businesses in the Cayman Islands. It was important for the Chamber to step into this role in the earliest stages of the pandemic and establish itself as a trusted source of information for Chamber members and the wider business community.”

The extensive, multi-element campaign was one of our most successful to date and helped many businesses and individuals through an extremely challenging time,” said Mr. Wil Pineau, who also chairs the Economic Continuity subcommittee for the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).”

The award winning work was honoured at the Angel Awards Show event in Florida on 18 September, attended by industry leaders and other American and Caribbean marketing agencies and public service organisations.
The competition was open to all advertising service providers, public service organisations, and special interest causes and groups located in Florida and the Caribbean.
