Business Grammar – 25 February 2022
This course is part of the Chamber Training Centre (CTC) Workplace Essentials category.
The Cayman Islands is a global business entity. Information which is posted by a company can literally reach thousands of potential customers around the world. First impressions count, so any published information must be accurate and error free. Anything riddled with grammatical or spelling mistakes raises immediate red flags about the credibility and professionalism of the company involved. In this workshop, you will be made aware of common errors and learn strategies for ensuring that they never occur.
The workshop is for anyone who needs to gain an understanding of why clear, accurate information is so important in all forms of written communication.
- The most common mistakes in grammar and spelling.
- Far-reaching implications of such mistakes with respect to professionalism and credibility.
- Basic rules for trying to avoid these mistakes.
- The ultimate accountability of middle/upper management and the need to facilitate proofreading provision prior to publication
Brian is a career educator, who has been delighted to call The Cayman Islands “home” since 1979. During his time here, he has served for many years as a School Principal, both in the public and private sectors.Brian has always insisted upon accurate grammar and spelling – not only from his students, but also from his staff and parents!
Upon retirement, he recognised a definite need for clear, accurate communication in all spheres of society, saw a niche for a quick, efficient proofreading service and Foolproof was conceived to fulfil this need.
