Inviting Mentors for the Mentoring Cayman 2021-2022 Programme
At the Chamber, we believe that developing Cayman’s youth to become the next generation of business and community leaders is vital to the continued success of the islands. In furtherance of this mission, the Chamber, in partnership with the new Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage is about to launch Mentoring Cayman 2021-2022 later this year. We are seeking mentors from the local community who are willing to dedicate their expertise and time to help guide high school students towards their personal development. The 7-month programme pairs top achieving students with mentors from the business community and government to provide them with advice and guidance to achieve their education and career aspirations.
All mentors are required to be certified under the Stewards of Children – Darkness to Light training programme and must obtain a police clearance. Mentors must also receive permission from their employer to participate.
Mentoring Cayman is an excellent channel through which successful professionals, business and other career individuals can play a role in helping to advance the Caymanian society. “Mentoring Cayman is a wonderful initiative; as rewarding for the mentors as the mentees. Everyone should take on the role at least once,” says mentor, Roger Southam – CaribbeanMGT Ltd.
