Massive Equipment Rental and Sales celebrated their 25th anniversary with a Business After Hours – the Chamber’s popular networking event – on Wednesday, 11 October, at Massive’s location in Industrial Park.

Established in 1998, Massive Equipment Rental and Sales Ltd. is a key supplier to the Cayman Islands’ construction, events, and allied service providers and the DIY community.

“Tonight, we are here celebrating 25 years of Massive Equipment Sales & Rental, providing a wide variety of equipment and expertise to help more people here get things done,” said Chamber President, Nelson Dilbert. Mr. Dilbert praised Massive for their customer-centered approach to success. “Theirs is an incredibly valuable service for large and small businesses operating in the Cayman Islands – people who just cannot justify buying that very necessary or very specialized piece of equipment outright, simply because they don’t use it enough – but when they need it, because of you, it’s there.” he said.

Dilbert also thanked Massive for their ongoing commitment to social responsibility, which has been demonstrated by their generous support to many local causes, including

local Rotary clubs, the National Gallery, and Jasmine. “They’ve also been a been a proud sponsor and of sporting events such as the Cayman Island Marathon and the ‘Rydathon’ at the Ryde studio – with their team regularly raising significant funds for charity,” Dilbert said.

Massive’s founder and President David Kirkaldy, a Past Chamber President, described how the company had grown since starting from humble beginnings 25 years ago, adding many new lines of equipment and service over the years, with the company now having a staff of more than 40 employees. “I am really proud that Massive has opened a branch in Cayman Brac,” added Kirkaldy.

Massive’s core values of ‘honesty, integrity, and respect’, extend to relationships with customers, vendors, and employees, actively contributing to the local community through partnerships and engagement with local organizations. “From our start, we’ve been closely tied to charities. Massive has assisted hundreds of charitable events over the years, and we wanted to mark this occasion of our 25th anniversary by giving to some charities that are really close to our heart,” Kirkaldy said, before presenting three cheques, each for CI$2,500 to representatives from three different charities: The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association of the Cayman Islands; The Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation; and the Alex Panton Foundation / Addi Kelly Scholarship.

Several different people received raffle prizes, which were gift certificates to use at Massive and the group’s associated businesses.
