Retiring Councillors thanked for volunteer service
President Mike Gibbs thanked Troy Burke, Jennifer Cowdroy, and Dave Johnston for two years of volunteer service at the Chamber’s 2021 annual general meeting at the Westin last week and presented each with a gift.
‘’The Council is the policy making and our advocacy body. We hold monthly meetings and invite speakers to discuss issues and to provide updates on legislation, policies and regulatory matters that may impact the membership and wider community,’’ said Gibbs.
In 2020 and 2021, the Council adjusted to virtual meetings due to the pandemic. Councillors were called into action on several occasions and were asked to provide feedback from their 
industry sectors and to attend meetings and take time away from their businesses to contribute to the work of the Chamber. The Chamber could not have achieved its level of success without their support, cooperation, and leadership, Gibbs said.
