The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) estimates that, in the UK in 2015, small-and-micro enterprises (SMEs) accounted for over 99% of private sector businesses. They also estimated that they made up 60% of all private sector employment, and just under half of the annual turnover, totalling £1.8 trillion.
Whilst those figures may derive from the United Kingdom, they certainly prove how vital SMEs are to the success of the economy, the growth of business, and the thriving of the community and its inhabitants. Therefore, it is important that we do everything in our power to ensure that SMEs successfully develop and grow.
In collaboration with the Cayman Islands Government - specifically the Ministry of Financial Services, Commerce & Environment - the Chamber of Commerce is hosting a series of workshops aimed specifically for SMEs. Over 60% of the Chamber membership is comprised of SMEs, and it is of vital importance that we provide them with the support they need.
Our workshops are facilitated by absolute professionals. Ranging from social media marketing experts to those who are adept in dealing with finances, our guest speakers will guarantee that you have the information and tools to improve.
Not convinced? Perhaps one of our previous attendees can persuade you. Mark Watler, owner of Funky Tangs electrical store, had this to say:
"The workshop…was very informative and well put together. It was a good learning experience and positive thoughts on how to move your business forward positively."
Our workshops, as shown, provide SMEs with information that is vital to their growth and development. To miss out on the expertise and knowledge that will nourish your business would be a travesty.
